In Mega Man 2, there's a generally accepted order for tackling the Robot Masters that takes advantage of each one's weakness to the weapon obtained from another. Starting with the Robot Master whose default weakness is the Mega Buster (or another easy-to-use weapon you start with) and proceeding to use each subsequent Robot Master's weapon to defeat the next is a common strategy. This creates a weakness chain that can be exploited to make defeating each Robot Master easier. Here is a commonly recommended order, along with the weaknesses of each Robot Master: 1. **Metal Man**: Easy to defeat with the Mega Buster; his own Metal Blades are extremely useful throughout the game. - Weakness: Quick Boomerang (it's worth noting that Metal Man is also weak to his own Metal Blade, making the rematch in Dr. Wily's fortress much easier). 2. **Flash Man**: His stage is manageable with the Mega Buster, and Metal Blades make quick work of him. - Weakness: Metal Blade or Crash Bomber. 3. **Quick Man**: This stage can be challenging due to the instant-death lasers, but the Flash Stopper acquired from Flash Man can freeze them, making it easier. - Weakness: Time Stopper (freezes Quick Man, but does not damage him; you have to finish him off with the Mega Buster or Crash Bomber) and Crash Bomber. 4. **Wood Man**: With the Quick Boomerang from Quick Man, Wood Man is easier to defeat. - Weakness: Atomic Fire (charged), Air Shooter, Metal Blade. 5. **Air Man**: The Metal Blades you received from Metal Man are very effective against Air Man. - Weakness: Leaf Shield. 6. **Crash Man**: The Air Shooter from Air Man makes this fight simpler. - Weakness: Air Shooter. 7. **Bubble Man**: Bubble Man's stage has some underwater sections but isn't too difficult. Metal Blades work well here, too. - Weakness: Metal Blade, Quick Boomerang. 8. **Heat Man**: The Bubble Lead you get from Bubble Man is Heat Man's primary weakness. - Weakness: Bubble Lead. After defeating all Robot Masters, you'll move on to the Wily stages, where you'll need all the weapons you've collected to tackle the various enemies and bosses that await. Keep in mind that every player's experience is a bit different, so while this order is widely recommended, it might not be the perfect fit for everyone's playstyle. Superficially, the key to success in Mega Man 2 is to think strategically about which weapons to use and when, as well as mastering the platforming and combat mechanics.
